AOC Twitch Branding

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez also known by her initials AOC, is a U.S Representative for New York’s 14th congressional district. On October 2020, AOC announced to her 12.7 million followers on Twitter “Anyone want to play Among Us with me on Twitch to get out the vote?” Later that week she ended up being joined by Rep. Ilhan Omar, and other top Twitch streamers Pokimane, HasanAbi, Disguised Toast, DrLupo, and more for her debut Twitch stream. Her stream peaked at 438,000 viewers around the time of her first match, according to Twitch, which became one of the 20 biggest streams on the platform. As a user and someone familiar with the platform, I started working on designs specifically meant for Twitch and shared them with her campaign. This project was extremely fun to work on and I’m glad I was able to help get the message out about voting.

The Results

AOC’s debut stream became the 6th most-watched stream on Twitch. I wish I had the analytics of how many people interacted with the designs but the goal was accomplished. To get people out there and vote. I’m still in shock I was included in this process and it’s definitely one of my favorite projects I’ve worked on. It was weird seeing some of the artwork I made plastered around and being mentioned in articles from Vox, The Verge, Medium, Washington Post, and more. Plus AOC gave me a little shoutout during the stream!
