NAPA Brand Font

Co-Font Designer | Glyphs

NAPA Sans is a clean and timeless sans serif font. It holds true to the core values of the NAPA Brand. Maintaining a high level of legibility and function across all touch-points physical and digital, enabling NAPA to build a cohesive and coherent typographic language. The long-term plan with the NAPA Brand Font is to integrate the typeface in our Design Systems. The font is broken up into NAPA Sans Condensed & NAPA Sans Roman. My role on this project was to complete NAPA Sans Roman and keep consistency within the condensed version. The font is compatible with over 150 languages and is currently being used in North America, Europe, and Australia for packaging, digital, print, and User Interfaces.

Overview & My Role

At the time, this project was my Creative Director’s baby. He completed NAPA Sans Condensed and after deciding to leave the company, the font wouldn’t have been finished. This is where I stepped up and volunteered to complete the NAPA Sans Roman family. At the time I had no clue what I was getting myself into but I’m glad I did.

The Challenge

Creating a font is no easy task especially with so many eyes from senior management looking at the project.

Business Goals

To replace Helvetica & Helvetica Condensed on our digital channels with NAPA Sans.
